Questions & Answers

We can't stress enough the importance of your safety when boating. At the very least, carry life preservers, oars, phone, fuel, etc. There is nothing worse than feeling helpless. 

These trolling motors will deliver at minimum the necessary power to move you through the water very well. They are perfect for 
getting to distant places where fishing is best. However, they are not intended to take the place of larger outboards, nor used as if 
they are of equal power and torque as a heavy weight water cooled 4.0hp outboards and bigger.

Our trolling motors have been given great consideration. They are built with marine grade materials and modifications were made so that they can be used  in salt water.

They are built with the consumer in mind they're designed so simple and uncomplicated that anyone with minor mechanical ability is able to service his or her motor.

Choosing the Right Motor

1.2hp is great as a trolling gas motor for a 8'-12' inflatable or a canoe. Great motor when used to move 300lbs.
2.0hp is great as a trolling gas motor for a 8'-12' inflatable, canoe, pontoon boat, plastic boat. Great motor when used to move a boat at a combined weight 400-500lbs.
2.5hp is great as a trolling gas motor for a 8'-13'  inflatable, canoe, pontoon boat, plastic boat. Great motor when used to move a boat at a combined weight 400-700lbs.
3.5hp is great as a trolling gas motor for a 8'-13'  inflatable, canoe, pontoon boat, plastic boat. Great motor when used to move a boat at a combined weight 500-850lbs.

Here are some questions we're often asked by our boater friends before making a purchase

Question: 
I have a 9" inflatable pontoon boat that I am wanting to use 1.2 motor on. The total loaded weight, passenger included is around 240 lbs. Will this motor be enough to push this at a reasonable rate? If not, will the 2 hp be sufficient?
Answer: 
The 1.2hp is sufficient to move you along nicely.

Question: 
Of the three motors, which have you found the most reliable?
Answer: 
All of our motors are reliable and will offer years of trouble free usage, when matched properly with the right type, size and weight boat.

Question: 
How wide of a transom can the engine mount bracket fit on to?
Answer: 
Approximately 3"

Question: 
I have some more questions. What is the distance from the top of engine to the highest point on the shaft that engine mount bracket can sit as shown in your picture on the web?
Answer: 
The overall length of the outboard from the very top to the center of the prop is 33" from the motor mount clamp to the cavitation plate 17".

Question: 
I sent e-mail to the listed e-mail address yesterday (Sunday, June 17 concerning the muffler system and the decibel range and about the noise level. I am getting more impressed as I receive information.
Answer: 
The muffler system is glass packed with an added double baffle supressers. Decibels at idle =70-78-89-97db's max out put  or quieter than  2hp Honda's air cooled outboard compared to a chain saw/blower/weed eater 110-118db's

Question: 
Hi, I'm interested in your 2.5 and 2.0 outboards. I would like to use one of these models for my 14ft sailboat (330lb)
Answer: 
We recommend 2.5hp for your sail boat, since wind and current might be an issue, especially when you'll need it when encountering  dead wind and a distance of 2-3 miles back to shore.

Question: 
I have a 10 foot john boat. I am looking to buy a small outboard motor for it. All I have now is a trolling motor. The battery doesn't last long. What do you recommend?
Answer: 
We recommend a 2.0hp because a Jon boats sits deeper than an inflatable and creates more drag, therefore you need a minimum of 2.0hp.

Question: 
Can i use it in salt water?
Answer: 
Absolutely, you can use it in salt or fresh water, and when you're done, although not necessary just dunk the propeller in a bucket of fresh water or hose off the propeller to get rid of any sand, mud, salt and silt to keep it ship shape when needing to use it next time.

Metallic Clutches vs Fibrous Clutches

Metallic clutches handle a heavier load, and minimize the the wear and tear caused by friction, providing years of usage without the need of replacement.
Fibrous clutches are consumable parts prone to wear and tear over time, similar to brake pads on cars, therefore, based on amount of load, speed and usage will determine when to replace them.
